One of my latest projects was an old cain I had in the corner near our back door.. It was my first attempt at staining and protecting the woods natural beauty.

I was very fortunate to have found the curved handle cain while walking through the forest. I'm not even sure what the wood was back then (18 years ago)

But I took the time to strip the old polish and stain and do something different. Using "Coffee grounds" I re-stain the wood for several days. Coating and re coating. I was pleased with the over all results.. but it just wasn't dark enough.. However, I knew one thing that would turn out as hoped..

I opened up a small hole in the front of the cane's handle and placed a Rutilated quartz cabochon in the opening.. then re-coated with a very think and high gloss finish.

So your thoughts on the properties of Rutilated Quartz..
