Ultimately, when one learns more and more it ought to become evident to us that this life and world is merely the illusion, in comparison to the greater reality existant.
This is borne out in the many NDE acounts available for reading today.
"I believe there are two sides to the phenomena known as death. This side where we live, and the other side, where we shall continue to live.
Eternity does not start with death.
We are in eternity now." - Norman Vincent Peale

"There is no place in this new kind of physics for both the field and matter, for the field is the only reality." - A. Einstein

If you can critically review yourself , and thereby correct your actions or take action for the better consistently in an accountable manner, then that is a good spiritual exercise in itself.

The same has been taught in many religions. I would say that you are a religious person already, even if you may not be following any established religion at present.

Dear Thinkthinkthink, overthinking gets you out of balance. Thinking is one sense, another is smelling, I believe we're supposed to be balanced in our senses. Like, ya don't go around smelling all the time!
I believe that kindness is the essential of real religion, and you don't have to subscribe to a franchise to practice it. Also believe it's important to find some way or ways to practice peace, like hard work or some absorbing, harmless activity. Helping others who wish to be helped could be helpful to you! All the best, SteveGiff
