Everyone is different and not everyone can loose weight on some weight loss program it's all about listening to your body and doing what your body says. for me it's fish, whole grains, nothing too sugar, a lot of protein, fresh juice that I get at my coop. LIsten to your body.

pre-dawn, don't judge so harshly lest you be judged yourself....you speak like you know it all.....well my friend you don't! You can only speak for your own body and not another's. Each person's body has its own way of dealing with its own issues, and no one else can possibly know what's right for another, no one!.
So please get off your high horse and stop acting like you have all the answers, lest of course you've been given divine insider information?.......have you? Im not sorry if you don't like my words, and, i will not express any regret or offer an apology to you on this.

Hi pre-dawn. Your one post about random thoughts and simply closing the cupboard door was exactly correct. But there is substance to the plateau effect that many here, including myself, have experienced. Perhaps though the solution to that one is simply lots of exercise and working out more as you alluded to, that could well be.

So, metamucil (yuck), In recent times discovered chia seeds. I wasn't sure at first if it was working, but now I know they are. I add them every day to cereal, yogurt, drinks. I find this helps immensely in my battle to lose weight with all my other health concerns and uh aging factors. chia seeds work in a similar way to metamucil but better. I add them to soups and cereals too. I find it cuts the appetite and find I'm not looking around for 'snacks' like I used to quite so much.

Hi Silvergirl! Thanks for sharing that good information. For sure good elimination is a key factor not only in weight loss but in general good health! I think everyone finds what works for them eventually, and the more we age, the more focused we become on achieving the health and vitality we took for granted in our youth!

I breakfast every morning on plain Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia, a three berry mix I buy at Costco, and an eight of a cup (you don't need a lot... I just like the crunch and the nutty flavor they add to my morning meal!) of a cereal called Flax Crunch. That holds me beautifully until lunch, and my last meal of the day is between four and five, because I don't like to go to bed with a heavy-laden stomach. I try to be as active as possible, but I don't have a grueling exercise regime I force upon myself. Do have a very energetic little dog who keeps me hoppin!

I just might consider getting myself a little pooch to give me one more excuse to get out and movin' in the near future. I've always been a cat person, but they don't quite fit the bill~*

well some updates from my neck of the woods.

i was on the too much meds and couldn't move because i hurt my back diet.
then the my knee gave out in sympathy and still no exercising so just stretching workout routine.
followed by the "everything tastes like snot" diet thanks to bronchitis/borderline pneumonia.
and topped off with the bulemic (food poisoning) for good measure diet.

result is my jeans are definitely looser and i've lost about 8 pounds simply due to illness and meds and lack of activity.... BLECH! weight loss is good but this isn't exactly what i wanted lol!

so back to lots of fiber and greens, started today with a bagel and apple butter, with LOTS of water and detox tea to get rid of all the crap built up in my system thanks to oh the past 4 weeks of this haha. hopefully going to do some wii fit tomorrow evening when i get home and then thursday i'll get to ride at least one, maybe two of my horses which is also a good exercise.

then the following week aside from mon in the office for the new job, i work from home all week so even 20 - 30 min a day on the wii fit should be cake for me on 3-4 weekdays throughout the week! fingers crossed. it's totally possible the fasting followed by purging this past week and a half is what finally jump started the weight loss for me. while i hate fasting, and i hate throwing up even more, it certainly wasn't a choice i had and well hopefully from here i can keep moving forward. fingers crossed!

i get to start my vitamins again today too in conjunction with as much detox tea as i can drink lol!!!!

I will say that the yoga is helping out because yoga positions help the thyroid, and glands in your body to release and work better than they usually are.

Hard does not mean impossible.

You CAN do it, anyone can. I can lose and put on weight at will, all it requires is discipline and the right food choices.

Trust me people, if you keep a diary of what you're eating, you'll realize its more than you actually first thought. Tone it down if the weight is still not coming off.
You are all amazing people with incredible dedication to the spiritual world, there is no reason that you cannot achieve the same results in the physical realm.

Iskander I've thought about doing a food diary however I'm now eating a lot better with getting especially my full servings of fruits and vegies a day which I think helps as 2 meals out of three I have are now fruits/vegies only. The main meal is healthy.
