Two Days of "Banned Website" After Logging In

Hi! Can anyone help with this strange thing?

I use a public computer. For the last two days after I logged in successfully (it showed "Thank you Klaatu24 for logging in"), but immediately afterwards, it showed an error-type page and said the Kiosk owner banned this website. Funny thing is, the computer let me see the website and posts easily if I was NOT logged in. So, it didn't really ban the website.

But today (July 25, 2017), logging in worked perfectly. (I've also used the same computer for all the days mentioned.)

Does anyone know what could cause two days of the "banned website," or if someone hacked me for two days?

Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

Hello,

For the most part, there has been nothing unusual or out of the ordinary on our end from staff, and we don't block the sight, even if you are banned. I use multiple devices and I log in from the local library sometimes.

Sounds possible it's from where you logged in and the network setting they have set in place for using a public computer? I have tried to log into this web sight from other public places, and depending on the business preference, they will ban/prevent me from having access to this web sight. I was at a childrens entertainment center the other day and this web sight was blocked there. Reason citing 'alternative beliefs'.

I cannot log into Spiritual Forums from work. I'd love to come here during lunch break, but our I.T. Department has banned this site. The reason cited is "Cults." My guess is that somewhere on this forum site one or more posts uses the word "Cult" and their filter picked up on it.

Probably someone at the library doesn't approve of this site, but was overridden by a more rational staff member.

It may not always be about content of a site. I have internet connection problems/speed problems. (I live -so they tell me -in a 'remote' area) Okay so you don't always have to live on a mountain or near a few fields or something to have a bad connection. Many other technical things can affect network connections. And sometimes when a connection isn't working properly it can feel like a devil got into the machine and something is definitely trying to prevent "you" from getting onto that website!
Error messages....pages that don't load properly...non-connections with sites (and some error messages make little sense but basically what they are saying is "the site is unavailable" one way or another.)
Fluctuating internet connection speeds can produce some weird error messages. I should know....I get them all the time!
I don't know if that has any bearing on your problem, but it's worth a mention.

Thanks for all your great replies! Never had a clue all these things were going on with people trying to see the website. But very comforting to know I'm not the only one. Gosh, alternative beliefs, cults, and technical things -- who knew? lol.

I'm grateful now everytime I log onto the site and everything still works!

Hey, maybe an affirmation can be made from all this.

Thanks again for all the responses!
