Muslim Believe about Other Religions

Since all the great religions were originally taught by Godís own chosen prophets, they had to be the same basic message. We do see differences, however, between them and we have to examine how this happened. After the time of every prophet, his teachings were either forgotten or distorted. Also, as a result of the changed circumstances of later times, newer and newer interpretations were introduced into the religion and gradually the essential message was polluted. This was the reason for the existence of a plurality of religions, in the place of the single Religion of God which all the prophets taught.

Now this, I do agree with. I think the "great religions" were originally meant to form a whole faith, not be fragmented as they are today.

If you put the best, the fairest, the most loving and beautiful aspects of all the major faiths together you have the best of humanity showcased in religion. I could go with that.

Totally agree with the above post and if you put together all the esoteric knowledge from all religions together, this world and the next become a cake walk.

As the Prophet Muhammad said: "Seek knowledge even if you must travel as far as China"
And "Seek knowledge even if you must crawl over ice to get there".

According to Islam this is not possible because:

''And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.'' 6:115

And it's mentioned in the Quran that previous texts are still valid. And there is nothing against this.

So it is not about being open and thinking.

None of your traditional religions are about being open and thinking!

I was raised Catholic and I can tell you that they don't want anyone thinking freely about anything...they just want good little acolytes who keep there mouths shut and tow the party line as laid down by the Vatican. Period!

Islam is particularly this way....your either a Muslim....or an infidel...that's it!

All “Holy Books” were written about someone whose spirit interacted with the spirit of God. The mind translation of this spiritual interaction depended on the prior conditioning of that person; hence you have various religions all claiming to live by the Word of God. In reality, it’s the word of fallible men attempting to interpret the mind of God.

Religion is a way to control people. There is nothing good coming from it. It is important how you are as a person. Needing rules is a weird thing.

Islam is preaching clearly that you are better then somebody not being of the same religion. That is already wrong.
