All the "Universes" (dimensions) exist in essentially the same space. It's just that we are not aware of the ones of higher vibration around us. (Some do become aware of things going on in other dimensions, hence this site.) Your "dead relatives" are "alive" in a non-physical form, but their consciousness (awareness/experiences) still exist. That doesn't go away.

So, yes, you could contact them. That is the afterlife.

Any of that make sense to you?

In terms of specific life forms, as in a particular person, you are describing parallel timelines, not other universes. Assuming you can jump timelines but not time travel: within their possible lifetime, you can visit a relative in body in some other parallel timelines. Note that in some of these timelines, they are not your relatives. Obviously as they reach their maximum lifespan and latest possible birth date (relative to you), you will find them passed in more and more timelines. Same for yourself. If you can jump timelines and have time travel ability, obviously you can visit any of them at any point in their lives.

The idea that one can be 'deceased' and yet sill be elsewhere implies some sort of spirit, soul, or aspect (the part that does not die when the body does) that is outside of actualized/manifested reality. As such you would be visiting a relative's spirit/soul/higher self not the body you knew as a 'relative'. Since spirit/soul/higher self are outside of time, you can visit them at ANY time.

Often times when a spirit visits you, they take on a form you will recognize. This is for your convenience, not because the spirit it forever trapped as in the form of the body they inhabited.

P.S. trying to understand the actuality of alternate timelines and time travel can kill brain cells.
