If you can bask in love then why on earth would you meditate

The end goal of meditation is to bask in love(connect with your divine)so you are already there.smell the roses

Yes, why.

Now, a case could be said that their is snacking on God's Love
or His Divine Presence...and then there is
sitting at a banquet table for
hours filling yourself to the brime...

Do we want to have a nooner with our lover/spouse or
do we want to
spend an entire weekend undisturbed with them alone in a room.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I spent a lot of time filling myself to the brime recently and I got a bit worried because I wasn't living in the real world.
I decided to go on a diet and cut back on time at the banquet table.
When I came back to reality I realised that I didn't need to go to the table anymore....The food is EVERYWHERE now

For those that have trouble...do you have trouble thinking about
the last time you were with your girlfriend...or
do you have trouble thinking about the Bahamas vacation in a week and
the all the fun things you plan on getting in?

So, take a break from this world ...sit back and imagine...dream....
think of wonderful memories....this will help you when you then
switch over...at a time of your choice ...to then
daydream about God, the Universe...how everything in your life seems to have had a purpose...
how much forgiveness you have received and how
you want to forgive in return...and on and on with good feeling thoughts
and plans revolving around kindness.

It is a start to the stillness you would like.

NOW, what if you tossed that entire word and at the beginning... you 'sat'.
That's all...comfortably sat, still, quietly for a certain amount of time?
And them, threw out all concepts of mindlessness, mindfulness, emptiness and samadhi?

So let's say for a month you sat in the darkness and stillness of being undisturbed...to enjoy thought.

Thought about wondrous things...thinking 'a movie scene' for 30 minutes.

About....love...$$...travel...a new baby...happiness in everything...confidence and freedom....

What does that mean? You have enjoyed yourself, changed your chemistry,
relaxed every system in your body...and MADE A NEW GROOVE in your brain...of Joy!

One month...then let's talk about this 'emptying'...and a
successful meditation...hahahha!

Hello,

This is what I normally do Miss Hepburn, but you make a very good observation and it's quite correct, I have just started up meditation again, and that continual barrage of external and internal thought is hard to dismiss.
But,it is possible and this time around I have nil or zero expectation, the outcome to me is irrelevant, but the relaxation I get is a big benefit to me!
And,the vitality hit is a bonus.

Kind Regards Billy.
