Seeing new replies to threads you've commented on

Hi,

What is the easiest way to do this?
Some forums (such as steam) will automatically subscribe you the threads that you comment on and next time you visit you can automatically see if there have been any new replies in such threads and automatically be taken to the first unread post (which is the one directly below yours the first time you revisit it).

I noticed that this forum only subscribed me to a thread that I started and even then I had to manually search for the first new post.

Also, some threads on the board are highlighted with a green leaf to signify new posts, but some that are not highlighted also have new posts that I haven't read yet (some of these I have previously commented on also and would like to easily find the responses).

As there is a very large number of boards and sections it's quite impossible for me to remember where all my posts are located.

I realise it may not be possible to improve the functionality of the site as it's based upon existing software designed by others, but any suggestions on how I can achieve what I want would be greatly appreciated.

Can I manually subscribe to every post I comment on or can I check an option somewhere to do so?
I've tried accessing User CP and Options but I'm locked out of this - perhaps because I'm a newbie - perhaps the option I seek is in here?

The option you want is in User CP and I don't know why you're locked out of it. Maybe another here knows why you're locked out.
