Afterlife and astral plane.... any differences ?

Are there any difference between the afterlife and the astral plane ?
If so, what are they ?

Just curious.
thanks

Well, the astral plane is usually the first place you end up after death because it's closest to the earth plane. But where you go after that is up to you. There are many more infinite planes out there to explore....

When you are in the astral plane, you are still connected to you physical body by your spiritual chord/rope/tether and can therefore return.

When you die, the cord is cut and you don't come back.

Other then that, I can't say I have experience with death, or any experience I can remember ;). In a more physical sense and not well understood scientifically, I would guess that the beginning of both experiences are similar considering that dmt is being produced in the brain during AP and death (with death being a lot more dmt, all of it).
