Witch Ball question

Hi everyone :)

Okay so I was gifted a witch ball and I noticed it doesn't have the strands in the inside of it. I don't think though all witch balls have the strands inside it.

what I mean by the witch ball is not the ones you gaze in but the ones you hand in the window and that are suppose to trap all harmful energies and stuff inside it.

My question is does it have to have the fiber strands inside it? Or no? lol

Sorry silly question I know

Not a silly question. I've seen witch balls without the strands inside but I think that, really, the strands are supposed to be in the ball for it to trap negative energy.

I think that if you have a glass orb without the strands inside, I believe that you were gifted a net float by accident. Still a nice piece to have, just not sure if it will do much for you. Best of hopes, though. =)

Witch balls are used to repel evil spirits and likely also other kinds of negativity. They don't trap the malevolent spirits in like Appalachian bottle trees do.

There is a cool article on historical witch balls on the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic website.

It’s all about intent, what is it’s purpose that is the intent. Traditionally Witchballs could contain many things from Urine to Nails etc for protection
