what kinda buddah survives high doses of cyanide and multiple gun shots?

just watched a documentary on Rasputin the holy man. not sure what really happend. but the story goes he was poisoned with no effect. shot again and again no effect. and just kept walking. he did finaly die at some point from the people trying to kill him.

if the story is true that is some serious power. he was known for healing all kinds of people as an adult and horses as a child. but this is the wildest story i have heard from recent times. perhaps buddhism can fill in the gaps if it was in fact true about the poison and gun shots.

The poison could have been old stock, Rasputin had gastritis and his body could not digest cyanide...the whole story was made up....lots of things.

As for being shot a few times and living...he may have had very thick clothing, the bullets missed major organs and arteries, adrenaline was keeping him alive...the story could have been made up...

There are certain powers one can acquire through yoga and meditation called "siddhis" and super human strength is one of them, but it does not happen very often and actually, the resilience is built up over a period of many years by practicing rigorous austerities...which is something that Buddhism doesn't teach really, as they are all about losing all attachments TO the body and to ones own mortality (or lack thereof).

im not sure of any more rigorous austerity than walking around aimlessly in siberia with steel shackles on his legs. lol

possible about adrenaline and such. im leaning towards being shot at point blank range multiple times would knock him down even with a bullet proof vest. not going to test it on myself though. lol

i think buddhism like Christianity and others teaches to first find god. but once they do like other traditions life goes on. and in life there is stuff to do. martial arts is big in the east. i seen buddhists in freezing conditions making wet blankets on them steam. i bet some have some skills. and i believe god is of more value. so i agree on whats most important. but dont deny life goes on.

anyways thanks for your response. didn't think anyone would of heard of him. it was pretty fascinating documentary. i think he had some power. and wondering in siberia all alone magnified his connection. would he interesting to know the truth.

almost never i read about or listen about a holy man and then get contact right away. this morning i seen him in my minds eye just before getting up and talking to me. it was very clear his practice. as he stated the only way is by heaven. what i got out of that is he had his attention on that as a practice. such as wandering around in siberia with shackles on all alone. he wasnt. his mind was on heaven. thats what i got out of it.

its usually the case im thinking about something else. like how early i can show up at the shipper in this case. and there is some guy talking to me. who and i dont know what? then i remember oh yeah. lol. after its over of course. lol. first thought it was jesus or something with the beard looking like pictures of him. then i remember the picture i saw of him. no. believe it was that guy.

Siberian villagers drinking the urine of tripping reindeers (and each others).
Reindeer and human alike...tripping balls.
Reindeer who believe they can fly like superman after eating Agaric 'shrooms.
What were their names again? oh yer, that's right...

Ever tried to leg rope a tripping reindeer for long enough to be able to drink its pee?

Takes a lot of strength, that does...
