Can Satan Cast out Satan?

Matthew 12:26 New International Version (NIV)
26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?

Jesus himself is saying straight out that it is just not possible that Satan can cast out Satan.

I have Schizophrenia and in the past I have had paranoid delusions. I have used the act of drawing Buddhist Deities and Hindu Gods to spiritually aid me in dealing with these delusions. When I had finished drawing said pictures my delusions have been driven away.

I have had Christians tell me that the delusions I have are from Satan.
Just the other day I had a Pastor tell me that relying on a picture of a Buddha or Hindu God is Satanic.

So plain in simply they are telling that I have accomplished what Jesus said himself is just not possible.. I have used a Satanic act to cast out what is a Satanic attack.

Any comments?

Whatever has worked for you to get better is all that matters. What religious people tell you is meaningless if it does not help.. All Satan casting out Satan means is that the devil cannot heal himself, that scripture has absolutely nothing to do with the human struggle. If I was sick and I used a picture of a cat and it healed me, I couldcareless what anyone has to say about it.

Look at the scripture in Greek.

The first 'Satan' is written in Greek as Σατανᾶς and is transliterated as Satanas.

The second 'Satan' is written in Greek as Σατανᾶν and is transliterated as Satanan.

The words are not identical nor are they pronounced the same.

The Good News Translation reads:
"So if one group is fighting another in Satan's kingdom, this means that it is already divided into groups and will soon fall apart!"

The Tyndale Translation, which is probably the most colorful, reads:

"So if sata cast out sata the is he devyded agenst him sylfe. How shall then his kyngdome endure?"

A delusion is a making of the mind. (Made from thoughts.)

Give the mind something to do and the mind cannot make delusions.

I would not listen to others rhetoric.

These Christians Terisilex are saying predictable things from their mindset, they would say this whatever the situation. Go with what your experience is above this. The proper Christian response would simply be to suggest you to draw picture of Christian symbols and so on... like Jesus or Mary
but they're probably not being mean only speaking from what they believe is true. If you feel better that is truth and the rest is noise.

How you perceive Satan could give you a better understanding to this strange verse.

If you perceive Satan as the ' Ego ' then IMO it makes sense. You use ' Skilfull Ego ' to remove ' Unskilfull Ego '.

Obviously everyone will interpret it differently..... Some will use Scriptures, I prefer to find my own interpretations from within.

What you are doing is called Visualization and if it helps you deal with your problems then you should continue. Take no notice of the Pastor who seems to be obsessed with Demons as a lot of them are..
