in new age communities as well as other spiritual ones people are all taught to believe that Antlantis was destroyed or something but antartica is alot of things.. theres a big hole in its center as well

I'm thinking Atlantis really did sink under the sea...and eventually was buried below sea level over millenia.

Atlantis has been called a continent that sunk to the bottom of the ocean. A continent is a big, big land mass.

They made a map of the ocean floor already and looking at it reveals there is no continent or continent-looking land formation under any part of the ocean surface.

If it did exist it was either a small island or it was just an advanced society that lived throughout the world.

The fall of Atlantis does seem to parallel the 1000's of flood legends found throughout the world. It would be interesting to figure out what's really true, but nothing can be proven today unless someone builds a time machine.

Yes, that is true, engellstein.

But I like the idea that the Earth is very--fast moving in burying things, whether they be ships, continents, or cities. I just saw a video on National Geographic, that showed the world without people--went up to about 500 years in the future. Many cities, architecture, man made things etc were ultimately buried and hidden.

Atlantis is fricking old...some of the first humans I believe were from Atlantis. So that's literally aeons of years the Earth had to engulf and grow over the remains of the continent after it sunk. It's deeply buried within Earth perhaps.

I truly think and agree that Atlantis sunk into the ocean and that it is buried.

As for Antartica, it used to be tropical but got relocated to the south pole via a continental shift. This is different than continental drift and not much spoken by scientists. Since I'm really interested in lost ancient civilizations, I watch as many shows about them as I can.

One show discussed Antartica and a scientist explained continental shift. The analogy was an orange for the planet. The peel was the continent and the rest of the orange was for everything underneath the continent. Imagine the peel sliding around the orange. That's continental shift.

The conclusion is Antartica was positioned between the American continents and I think the north part of Africa before it slid to the south pole. Paleantologists have found dinosaur bones in Antartica.

I'm really curious as to what Antartica has underneath all that snow and ice.

I'm also interested in Baffin and Ellerslie islands in Canada's northern waters.

There are indeed many lost civilizations other than Atlantis, Lemu and Mu.

A lot of researchers do think Atlantis was Antarctica. Graham Hancock, Rand Flem-Ath, for two. Both are diligent researchers, who base their theories on fact and documentary evidence rather than hyperbolic twaddle. A comet struck North America around 9000BC and burst a massive ice dam, raising global sea levels in a day or two. Hence the flood stories...
