How to reject negative energy?

I have learned that the more physically healthy I am, nutrition, hydration, rest, etc.; mentally healthy, meditation/stress relief exercises, etc. and spiritually healthy the better I am able to be present, centered and conscious. This has worked very well since I started in 1978, and I continue to learn and develop. Instead of defending myself, I have learned that Light/Love transforms and heals darkness.
