Dear forum

Thanks for having me! I'm a bit of a mystic. I like hearing about what other wanderers have found on their journeys throughout this wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we find ourselves in. Having done a bit of exploration of the more remote regions myself, through performing spiritual exercises, I have come to appreciate the many diverse directions spiritual growth can take us.

Also, I am atheist, in the sense that I have no God or gods, and in the sense that I think that the scientific method has a lot of merit and yields unsurpassed results when applied to observable phenomena. But I am not of the bloody-minded materialist strain of atheism (sometimes called "New Atheism"), and I strive to be respectful of all people, be they faithful to a religion or free thinkers. Also, I am deeply interested in the utterly subjective thing called "consciousness" which is illuminating our experience of, well, everything, science included.

Welcome to the forum. I would describe my beliefs in similar manner to yours.
