You are confusing intellectual gyrations with actual experience. When it comes to the 'experience' of the continuous present the more legs one gives it the less useful the present becomes. If one looses themselves within the images of a looped-series of past reflections and future expectations then the experience of the present recedes out of reach of our conscious and direct perception.

The manor in which you entitled this thread reflects your confusion on this matter.

Exactly... Clearly you speak from the perspective of direct experience. :)

Yes, present exists and have even more value than past and future. All your life you live in present. Your present has so much power. your past and future all depends on your present and it depends on your present that how much good or bad you make your past or future. Whatever makes you is your present that holds the memory of past and goes with you at future.

I've been playing with this observation, with functionality in mind, and am fascinated by the deep implications. Since the present is the only moment in which life can be experienced/expressed then that means this is the case for "all of creation" both seen and unseen. In front of us is a developing "forever", behind us extends as a historical "forever", it's only in the moment that we ride what exists as a massive flow of a continual present. From the smallest of partials to largest of intergalactic events we are riding on a wave of simultaneous expression. The resulting roar, if we could hear it, bust be amazingly intense! It may be that we're using our thoughts about the past and the present as a buffer to help mitigate the intensity of the now?

There's a little experiment that I've been trying on myself that seems to make this alignment with the now more enjoyable and better functional. Instead of focusing on the present, which recedes as soon as it occurs, place your attention just a half a second or so on the stream of time as it arises to greet us. Project comfort and calm onto this approaching of immediate time and then watch it wash over you as a most pleasant response. We have been raised to project such approaching of time with unconscious expectations of concern and regret. Feed it instead with warm expectation and see if your results are in harmony with mine. :)

Ive presented this many times in many places. The present is 2D slice-of-3D-Volume i.e. |

<< past < out < ( * | * ) < in << future

However, a 2D { | } slice-of-3D-Volume can be seen with the minimal structure of Universe, the tetrahedron.

When a 3D tetrahedron, turns itself inside out, one of its vertexes goes through one of its diametrically opposite, triangular openings.

See URL
http://trinity2011.blogspot.com/2011...statement.html

Here we see a subdivided 2D triangle at the exact halfway position between seemingly, 3D volumetric tetrahedron as outside-out and the tetrahedrons polar opposite 3D inside-out tetrahedron.

We could say, that, the whole thing is quasi-2D and qausi-3D i.e. it is just oscillating motion between out and in tetrahedron that moves forward over time and becomes our past.

>>>>linear arrow of time >>>>>
<<past out <( * / * )<< in future<< Slice-of-Mind
>>>> linear arrow of time >>>>>

<<past out <( * | * )<< in future<< Slice-of-Time

2D in motion-- moment/momentum ---that oscillates between outside-out and inside-out is 2D warp to appear to us as 3D motion, mojo, reality, phyiscal/energy aka observed time.

Isn't everyone s little confused on these topics?? Hence the forum.

Absolutely! That's why I'm here, to work through my raw impressions as they form and to then attempt to align them with words. It's a hoot to have this opportunity to do so! :)

I'm sure your science on this is impeccable, I couldn't imagine it being otherwise. But the key that I'm looking for here is the adjustment of our direct perceptions in order to align with the general flow of how time actually presents itself, in real time, as a direct experience. The intellectual aspects of how we define time-in-motion tends to get in the way of directly perceiving the passage of time as a primary experience. I find that the quieter the mind the better the reception. Without the sound of our "mind thinking" the presence of everything else becomes more prominent. It's something of a "dialing in " process where the 'moment' becomes how one experiences the integrity of our immediate surroundings.

We tend to get a taste of this during dramatic or traumatic events, where no other time is considered in lieu of what's currently unfolding. My preference is to pursue a more hands-on participation with what's legitimately possible, I then tend to use science to help orient mentally to what I'm watching take place. For me its the thing first, and then the science that helps explain what I'm seeing. :)

Science? I was talking about how perception of 2D { planar } and 3D { volumetric } geometry.

I then present concept of a minimal 3D tetrahedron that oscillates between outside-out and inside-out. This could take place at quantum level and speed-of-radiation.

This pattern would be that of a triangular based di-pyramid. See link. The first atomic clock was likened to this pattern.

Then I give a visual of future > past as associated with our human, bilateral processing.

<< past out < ( * | * ) < in < future < Slice-of-Time { occupied space }

<< past out < ( * | * ) < in < future < 2D slice-of-3D Volume { abstract }

<< past out < ( * / * ) < in < future < Slice-of-Mind { metaphysical-1 }
.................spirit-of-intent.........
