Does depression/anxiety cause chakras to be closed or vise versa?
I am reading a self up book, the Worry Cure! I find it pretty interesting so far, and it was talking about how worrying is what leads to anxiety and depression. Did my depression and anxiety cause my chakras to slow down, or are my chakras being closed for some other reasons causing mental problems? I do hear how certain foods, hobbies, etc. do impact your chakras. I do notice when I am feeling down my chakras have slowed down a lot but when I am in a better mood, they're more opened, however I could open the chakras up a bit more to get them moving faster. Only a few are moving but quite a few are moving rather slow.

Different chakras correlate with different emotional and mental and spiritual states, so it sorta depends what chakras you are talking about and when you are experiencing what state of being.
As a general rule they are always in flux, opening, closing, moving energy faster or slower.
It's a very dynamic system which changes an adjusts based on both internal and external factors of the moment.

To me, asking whether slow chakras cause mental illness or mental illness causes slow chakras is like asking whether the chicken or the egg came first. It can be difficult or close to impossible to tell for sure. But also, with chakras, the answer isn't always the same. Depression can slow chakras, but a chakra that is slowed by something else might cause depression. In my experience, anxiety is tied to overactive chakras rather than underactive, but others may disagree.

If that is the case, I too have an Anxiety Disorder, and maybe my chakras are overactive instead of underactive. I didn't think of that, maybe I'll focus on narrowing them a little bit, but I'm not sure which one would be responsible for anxiety...

You really shouldnt focus on all with messing with them in that way as you could really do great harm to yourself. Dont narrow or shrink any chakra unless you truely know what you are doing.
There is only one chakra which I purposely would ever shrink to help a common serious health issue. With chakra balancing its better to energise and make the smaller ones bigger to bring them into alignment. Please dont mess with your chakras in this manner without actually knowing what they are all doing.

I totally agree with this. It's not necessary, nor desirable to work with your chakras in a direct way. It's much better to embrace s spiritual life and a spiritual path, to try first to improve/purify every aspect of one's lower self.
In doing that, the vibration of the chakras will be increased naturally, in a proper way, and under the guidance of one's Higher self.

Depression and Anxiety require long-term continuous healing/care. Please consult a therapist or a healer around you and get a proper treatment. You can also do meditations to get guidance while the treatment is ongoing.
