Time Slip?

This time I was thinking about time, as a spiral and how cycles are in this spiral, then I started hearing things again. Perhaps I am picking up on something.

Time has existence only in the experience of the individual ego. It has no existence when the world of maya ceases to be. Time is but the panoramic succession of our states of conciousness.
(maya = illusion)

Is that metaphorical or literal. If it is all an illusion or allusion to simulated reality then it shatters every concept.

I have read theories posted on wikipedia about how people enter the simulated reality and experience an individual life within...learning lessons or living a randomly generated life within the simulated reality. If all is an illusion and this is just an experiment. What would the non-illusionary real world be like? Is it also easily shattered with the right conditions in phylosophical questioning?

those words are straight out of Blavatsky's "Secret Doctrine".

I believe the non-illusionary world is the spirit world, from whence we came. This world is said to be the world of illusion, in that it is only a temporary divergence made by spirit for the purpose of learning the lessons of the physical plane.
