Sons And Daughters Of Nippon.

I feel an imense sadness today ...... as I write this, I have just seen fresh news footage on TV of the devastation caused by the Tsunami that recently hit Japan.

The people on the hillside looking down on their town, and watching helplessly, as the massive wave rolled up the valley, wiping away everything in its path ..... their gasps of terror and shock as they see, but do not fully believe what they are witnessing before their eyes. Tiny ants running before the wave then vanishing, which you quickly realise are the poor, poor unfortunate souls who were not able to get far enough away, or high enough in time before the wave engulfed them ......

The male nurse giving a bewildered interview to a foreign news crew, telling of how the hospital he worked in was 4 storey's high, but before the wave hit, they only had time to evacuate the fourth floor patients to the roof and safety ...... the wave reached the height of the fourth floor .......

The man looking frantically for his parents ...... "I have to find them ...... I have to find them" was all he kept saying ......

The woman desperatly trying to find her 95 year old mother who was too old/frail to get away from her house. She was at the location of her house, but there were no houses ...... just a muddy wasteland ......

And on, and on ........

The wave decimating villages, towns, everything in it's path ....... indiscriminately wiping out many countless lives in an instant. The power of nature at it's most raw and destructive .....

I feel an immense sadness today for the proud people of Japan/Nippon.

So many families will be grieving for lost loved ones ....... how many is yet unclear, as the sheer scale of the catastrophy is yet to be seen fully ....... but one thing is certain, they will need the world's help over the coming months and years to recover from this ordeal.

Lost sons and daughters of Nippon, I pray that your souls are now at peace .......

Granted, SS, so many of us are mesmerized by this horror, I know I am.

I will have these poor people ~ and the ones in NZ, Haiti, etc. on my mind and in my thoughts and prayers like forever. God give us strength~*

May a wave of compassion and love, not destruction and horror, wash peacefully through the aching hearts of all those who have been affected by this terrible event.
