Wild goose is a very long form with lots of moves and while it is very good I would say it's more for an advanced student.

4 golden wheels by Robert Peng is what I learned at first...I think it's medical qi gong and it felt great. The guy who taught this to me (whom Robert Peng taught) said that when he was practicing with Peng, he would peform these exercises for hours over and over again. My favorite was inviting heavenly chi to the heart from abover the head, and earth chi up to the heart...using the hands

I like the simpler forms. Anything too athletic makes it difficult to stay in the sensation of chi - as a beginner anyway.
