Personally, I think yes, yes indeed.

It's an interesting thing to explore but we are living in this life time and so better to keep our main interest in this world.

Finding out about past lives can unlock the doors to healing, and used as such it is fantastic. For the past lives I've uncovered, sometimes there is a part of me that wonders if what is revealed is a metaphor or an analogy of the current problem. Or if it is someone else's life I tapped into.

Good to explore with a lightness and ease so the information can flow and with the purpose of ultimate healing of body, mind and spirit as an end point - whatever form healing may take.

Information for the sake of it - I would ask "why".

Obsession, I would urge the person to come back to the now.

Yes. I think glimpses into past lives can help us at certain times in this lifetime (perhaps there is still something carried over that needs to be dealt with), but we're here to live this life and it doesn't matter who or what we were in a previous lifetime. We are always our eternal self no matter what form we're taking now...or what form we may have been in before.

I've known some people who are obsessed with being someone famous in a past life....as if fame means something?

I think past lives are interesting, but it seems one never gets the full story, only bits and pieces .... or glimpses.

And I am not quite convinced on how it helps with healing current issues ....

as for being famous in a past life, what does that get one ? except a claim to fame and that isn't even for sure

Yep so true, I am too busy enjoying this life than to worry about a past life, if there is such thing.

So, you see the event or the theme in a past life replayed in this life.

For example - one from mine - I was a chinese lady, highly manipulated and had my feet bound. I was doing some serious walking over the last year - and one day I had had enough - my feet were really sore. The guide had a look at my boots and my feet. They were too small.

I said goodbye to the boots, bought some that fitted me properly - spending a considerable sum of money, and broke the root of the manipulation that was occuring in this life.

That's a very simplistic version of events ....

There is also a friend whom I killed in a past life, I needed to forgive myself and reach his higher to obtain forgiveness for this wrong - that is a healing. I don't know whether he reciprocated and killed me elsewhere but certainly he did a good job in being very very mean to me in this life. Whether that was karmic and revenge - possibly? Or, maybe it was because he was afraid of me and wanted to manage me.

What matters is not the detail - but rather that forgiveness to the self and the other is achieved. Therein lies the healing.

I'm still not sure if it is all a metaphor or if it is a reality, in many ways it doesn't matter - if you find mercy, forgiveness and resolution so you can walk forwards, that's what matters.
