Focus and remember all the things you love about humanity and the world at large. Take time and maybe write them down. The more you do this the more you attract them into your life. The more focus the more alignment occurs. Synchronicity happens. Write down all the best qualities of people, friends, lovers, animals, places, etc. Give them reality. Existence.

Some say, also, that when you think of something part of you connects to that target. Like when you think of a long lost friend and they enter back into your life. We all have lines reaching out to everything in the world, connecting us to reality. Upholding it. Sustaining it's very existence.

Reach out and give some love to the world.

Are you sure about that? Most people don't understand most things. They may partially understand, given that understanding=knowledge+experience so at least they can partially love. There are multiples of shades of love multiplied by the number of people on the world.
I love music (in a very deep sense) but I don't understand it other than technically. I love a piece of cake - but how do you understand a piece of cake?

Perhaps what the lad means is more a simple acceptance of what is, warts and all (?) No idea, just guessing

All you are doing here is restricting the heart. I try to open the heart without creating needless obstacles. In your view you need to understand someone completely before loving them! How about loving the mystery that is human nature? The mystery that is love. I love a good mystery! How about loving the journey when getting to know someone, and enjoying every lil bit of love found along the way!

I liked this. IMO your observations are being unfairly dismissed. Personally I see a synonymous correlation between 'understanding' and 'open-mindedness'. Thus one could assert that being open-minded is a(the) key to love. Being open-minded presumes the absence of blinders. The most typical 'blinders' are pre-conceived notions, prejudices, and the ego among others. Every one of these aforementioned serve as impediments to love. Do not let others discourage you from sharing your thoughts.
