Cards not "working?"

Hi All,

This happens to me sometimes, and I'm not sure why, so I wanted your take on it. I'm not the best card interpreter, but I'm ok. They're virtually always accurate.

However, sometimes I'll go through a period of either weeks or sometimes even a short several months where my cards just will not cooperate with me. All of my readings are totally off, basically the opposite of what is actually going on, etc.

I am going through this period again right now, and I do happen to be very stressed at the moment. Do you find that your own energy affects all of your tarot readings? Any other influences affecting your readings? Any advice for cleansing your energy? I just cannot get in tune right now...frustrating!

For starters are you talking about doing a reading for yourself other people or both.

Pagandell may have a point, if you are asking on the same issue again and again, the cards have a tendency to start becoming confusing, I can tell when my cards are getting 'sassy', I tend to get 5 of cups (give it up and move on already!!), 10 of Swords and Death (okay I'm done with this, I'm finished), so I know it's time to let things happen as they are destined to happen.

If it's not repeat readings on the same issue then it could be your actual interpretation is 'off'.
It's very difficult trying to read objectively for yourself, usually because there is an emotional investment in the question. We have a desired outcome already in our minds whether we admit it or not, so when we get cards that don't show what we hope for, we blame the cards. In actual fact, the cards are never 'wrong', they are just cards, they have nothing to gain by giving a wrong answer. It maybe you are having difficulty interpreting them or they haven't given you the answer you hoped for.

Agree with that, the same thing happens to me when Im trying to force an answer, you would think that I would have learnt by now... :-)
The cards dont like repeating themselves, at least not in a short space of time, the trick is to ask the question good and proper only once, and take your answer and let that be it. Sometimes I come up with a different angle on a question or different perspective and ask it in a different way which works too, but as long as Im not trying to 'trick' the cards into giving me the answer Im looking for, that never works...
If Im getting wound up over a question I leave it alone for a few days and try again with a clear head.
Hope this all helps...

What the other posters said :) ^^^^

Repeating the same question over and over will encourage our Teams to just mess with us because we didn't pay attention the first time. Kinda like a 4 year old asking the same question over and over, you eventually start changing your answer to silly things just to keep your own sanity and amusement in the face of repeated questions. LOL

ALso " Stop, Drop and Meditate" is a Good One. ( I just made that up!)
When we get too caught up in our own hyper monkey thinking there's not space for our Teams to be heard so we get gibberish, sort of like our thinking! So Stop, Drop and Meditate to clear your head out and re-center, and don't grab the cards immediately afterwards either. Just chill out for a few days and practice Noticing the world around you and keep your brain distracted from its hyper monkey stuff. Then you can address the cards again with better success.

And I forgot to add, something they definetely appreciate is when you take action based on the cards, like someone constantly asking for advice but never taking it, eventually you stop giving it... Even if that action is just a change in your thought processes and attitudes if not some physical action, it all gets noticed...

Assuming you're asking different questions, being unbalanced (and stress definitely counts towards this) = kiss your accuracy goodbye

Step awaaaaay from the cards. Go meditate/exercise/whatever and don't touch them again for three days. Then limit yourself to two readings, max (pref one).
