Meditation tips needed for the ADD mind
I am an adult with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and have a difficult time quieting my mind for meditation. I can't seem to stop random, silly thoughts from popping up. I try to focus on breathing, counting, etc, but it doesn't work.
Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!

Listen to music/chanting/binaural beats as you meditate

Breath meditation commonly entails 'random thoughts popping up'. Maybe you can aware of breath for 30 seconds before mind wanders away, maybe 20 seconds, maybe less, maybe more. It doesn't matter at all how long so don't set standards or expectations.
Feel the breath, don't count it - just feel it - and when you realise your mind has wandered, no worries, start feeling the breath again.
I think it is best to set a time period of 1/2 an hour at least, and persist for the allotted time. Just be cool, do the meditation without expecting results. Don't count. Don't worry about works or doesn't work. Just accept whatever it is.

Perhaps you are distracted by too many worldly attachments?
Trying getting rid of these attachments as they are the root cause of your distractions.
Of course, persevere and practice more.
