Affirmations and Mantras

Do Affirmations and Mantras relate? Is there benefit in meditating on affirmations?

Just vaguely related - they're used for different things and have different foci. Affirmations are for affirming a change you wish to make
mantras are utterances - maybe Wiki has it about right: to "arouse spiritual
or religious emotion", used more as meditative tools.

Mantras and affirmations are indeed different.
A mantra is complex. A mantra has a rhythm, a deeper meaning and its purpose is often to put the individual in a trance. Some are thousands of years old.

An affirmation is something that you say and may focus onto. It can be invented on the spot and can be forgotten as easy. It has far less "myth" in its context.

There is a great benefit in meditation on affirmations. Sometimes and to some persons is very effective.
I personally don't do it because I feel like "begging" the nature to fructify my affirmation, when it's really not necessary.
