Trying to Astral project for my first times, I'm falling into deep sleep.

Hello there,

I'm new to astral projection and I started practicing 2 days ago some techniques to be able to separate my body eventually. When I did was, the first day, I woke up after sleeping for 6 hours by my alarm, and then I stayed wide awake for 3 mins, I closed my eyes shirtly after and tried to get into sleep, while keeping my focus into my hands, legs and my mind. I tried imagining my hand movements and imagine pictures and try to see them real, but I ended up falling into sleep. Iwoke up about 3 times during 3 or 4 hours afterwards.
The next day, at midnight, before sleeping, I tried to do the same thing all over again, I feel asleep too.. however for the first time in a long while I could clearly see into my dreams. I don't remember ebing able to do so since a while. When I was younger I could see the whole dream quite clear as if I'm living my dreams but it stopped happening as I grew up. So what i remember seeing this time was me looking at myself in the mirror. Now this was the first action item I had in mind to do when I succeed in separation, and I was kinda shocked.. was I maybe successful but I don't remember? Or was I practicing that inside my dream?
I woke up during my sleep and i was so tired, my eyes feels as if I wasn't sleeping and i remember I was doing a lot of things and going to lots of places in my sleep.
I have a really strong will to do astral projection but I think I'm doing something wrong which is why I'm falling into deep sleep everytime.

The reasons why we fall asleep is because we are too tired. I cannot ap if I am too tired as I will likely fall asleep. Another reason is it important to know our ap signs. It can be very slight feeling but if we miss it then we will fall asleep every time. If I did not notice my mind feeling more relaxed this morning I would have fallen asleep. It is easy to stop concentrating and you can drift off into a dream. If you concentrate on something and think of something else for a moment then you can fall asleep. Keep practicing and try not to get disappointed if it does not work out. Eventually you will get there.

If you are too comfortable it is very easy to fall asleep. If you have a lot of sleep and are reasonably confident you will not fall asleep then it is alright to get very comfortable. I find that if I am too uncomfortable that prevents me from aping. The ideal way is to be somewhere in the middle.

Thanks a lot for your answer You are indeed correct, I'm either too tired or too comfortable when I'm trying.
I will keep practicing and I'm sure I'll get it with time.

I've been working on this for 4 years! I've had 2 projections- a few SP events- 1 lucid dream!! I think it's cuz I work nights n babysit grandson a lot during day- when I finally go to bed I've usually been up 24 hrs n go into a coma- I've had a lot of feet floating up- one hand able to lift out/ but I keep trying!

You may be able to practice in the weekends if it fits your working schedule. If you have other spare time during the week that will help. If you are always working you will find it hard to ap as you will be very tired. Another way is when you wake up you could practice to ap.
