how to read cards?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to read cards and wonder what method you guys use to read cards. Is it more like intuition or does most of your ability come from voices or visions?

I learned to read by studying tarot and learning tarot history, then added the intuition to the mix. I think with tarot there needs to be some basic knowledge and understanding of the system.
I am clairaudient but wouldn't say I hear voices and I don't see visions )that's more the realm of psychic than card reader), although some readers do have those abilities and use the cards as a tool to channel their message.

Mostly intuition. I don't see how visions are different from intuition.
And with Tarot of course knowledge of the default interpretations so you can then in time bounce off that.
I also sometimes read the card's interpretation when it's an oracle card and get intuition info while reading. Somehow it's a means for me to kick my intuition into gear.
I do not have visions, you already got the visual of the cards, but I do sometimes just know something. (I'm clair-cognizant).

I was greatly influenced by a book by Gail Fairfield, "Choice Centered Tarot", her approach to reading was very easy to understand and I have had good success with her approach. I don't follow intuition that much, tend to just give a cold read of the card.
