Yes music definitely sends messages. Different tones, rhythms and lyrics correspond to different movements in frequencies. If you properly channel yourself to the song (100% focus on the music), your body will vibrate to same frequency of the song. Therefore you will feel emotional sensations specific to that song. That is why sad song makes you feel sad and a happy song makes you feel happy.
You can do this with the lyrics of a song also. If you channel into what the message is that the artist is trying to portray, you will become part of that message frequency. When I do this, I'll listen to a song with deep emotions and story and I will become part of that story (experiencing the story and feeling the emotions correlated with it). I will literally lose all sense of my surrounding and become amerced in the story. Usually I'll get full body chills or vibrations when something strikes deeply to me and I consider these truths that have been sent to me either from A higher being or the artists

I have always loved dancing by far my favorite thing to do. I always wanted to be a dancer growing up but my mother couldn't afford putting me in dancing classes. So I just did it for fun, still do. I have to agree it takes you to another place, I usually use it to manifest because I feel like it brings your vibrations up. It's such an amazing feeling. Everyone asks me how I move so smoothly and so easy to the beats. It has always come naturally. I taught myself how to dance at the age of three. It's big in my culture...Sometimes I do feel like I'm channelling someone. I don't see anyone, I just feel so much joy from it and like I'm being guided to move the way I do. I didn't know shamans used it.. In my mothers country they play a certain type of music with drums and all different instruments and people usually dance around and spirits sometimes come through and basically give you a reading. I think it has to do with saints. I'm not sure if it's called Santeria. But they usually called on saints.

I can't say I've ever received thoughts about my own life from music, but I have received a lot of creative ideas from it.
It's also been one of the most consistent forms of what I suspect is communication from my higher self or guardian angel or what not, especially when I hear a song for the first time and I just completely lose myself in it, swept away by the feelings it gives me.
I find Celtic music, especially Adrian von Ziegler's, as well as piano pieces and Indie game music the most common culprits. And I've also found, the most I listen to a piece, the less effect it has on me.
Which makes me think that these pieces I stumble on that resonate so powerfully within my body, are sent to my by someone high above, that apply to a situation at hand. And that once they lose effect, that means the situation has passed. I just wish I could understand what they're trying to say, because a lot of the pieces are just music, there's no words.
