'We will remember them'
Remembrance Sunday - 9th November 2014
Armistice Day - 11th November 2014
'They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them'
Wear your poppy with pride.

It was for Remembrance Sunday, Divine Consciousness. That is the day which commemorates the fallen in battle, and during the 2 world wars.
Even if we do not believe in war, I always feel an honouring of those brave Souls is a decent thing. My grandfather was a trench soldier in the 1st world war, and survived, and lived a good life afterwards. I often think about the bravery of that man, and how little the family could know about that.
I am sorry I missed this thread back in November.

My grandfather received a medal for gallantry (in WW1) for going out twice to rescue wounded comrades ...

I once went to Menin Gate - in belgium. Over 50,000 names are carved into this memorial. They are the names of those who went missing in action and were never found.
the thought still sends shivvers up my spine.

And each one was someone's son, brother, husband ....
(Though they found each other in spirit)
Blessed are the peacemakers. Truly.
