They can dry me out and put me in the wood stove with a good load of seasoned maple.

I would be cremated. My brother was cremated and to me I’m glad he’s not in the ground writing but not only that I have a piece of him literally ashes of him and I can bring him with me anywhere I want and it makes me feel closer to him also ashes to ashes dust to dust Namaste

I agree with this. There is no right or wrong decision.

Hello

I was always on the fence with what I wanted until I visited England and saw some very old graves. How lonely they were, how at times unkept they were.

Some had sunk into the ground, head stones you can not read from age and weathering. I do not want to be like that.

Set my ashes free. Or donate me to science.

Lynn

I want to be cremated.

I only saw one outdoor's cremation. I thought it was wonderful. On the second day, the fire was still burning and the smell was exquisite. They had packed the elderly woman with wonderful smelling resins.

Hard to find a place that will do an outdoor public cremation today so I probably will be cremated inside.

Sounds nice bigjohn.

I personally like the idea of an outdoor pyre too...burning for hours throughout the night too. Power of fire i like....as a releasing/transmuting ‘agent’...rendering everything down to its base minerals.

I lived next door to an old english country graveyard as a kid. Being somewhat ‘sensitive’ i sensed a lot from the place as i played beside it in the garden. Like a stasis/stuck in time feeling. No life, no death inbetween place. I would often walk through looking at the headstones, mostly ancient/unkempt. I understand people like a place to visit and connect with the departed, yet, for me personally, that can be done anywhere, at any time, by remembering and loving.

For myself i always said cremation and spread my ashes to the Four winds.
but i had a choice to make when i lost my husband,
cremate or bury my kids wanted their dad to be buried .
and for them it has been the right choice.if they feel down they go and tidy his grave and talk to him.
but its personal choice really.
the way costs are rising i dont know which will be the more Expensive

Cremate me please, a nice clean way to go..:)

PS- Here in England you can opt for a simple 'Direct Cremation' which is a no-frills affair and only costs about 1300 GB pounds (1700 US dollars), whereas other more fancy funerals/cremations cost up to 5000 GBP.
