So just like humans then in this regard hehe.

It's probably mostly just a sex thing with animals though rather than an emotional romantic thing.
Apparently humans can sit somewhere on the sexuality orientation scale but there is a seperate scale for gender romantic attraction as well.
So a person could be sexually attracted to both sexes but only romantically attracted to one gender... or vica versa
That's just one example of one of the many possibilities in human sexuality terms.

Back to the animals but not directly related: There are the odd co-habitational and co-parenting stories in the animal world like the two male ostriches who raised a Chick together...

Male ostriches raise their young to begin with though as far as I remember?

One of mine did some printing for me!

I went out and he decided to sleep on my printer which I hadn't turned off.

Everytime he stretched in his sleep his bum pressed to 'go' button.

He did alot of secretarial work for me that day! I came home to about 20 print outs on the floor.

I started to call him Mr. Printer-Bottom for a while LOL
