Traditional Navajo Prayer

Here is a song libana, a chant group, made with it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0hZujNbYg8

and another version someone made of libana's tune (with indonesian words/translation as well). lol:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4iIDeV2zKU

which i think is very pretty.. i sometimes like to think this prayer in my mind, and to visualize the directions and sense the beauty in all directions, doing so. (my use of this prayer is solely based on things i've read, etc. and i'm not tribally enrolled, but have relatives who are muskogee, cherokee, and likely other tribes. and am not navajo, but i just have an interest in many american indian cultures, which is how i found this prayer. i've found others too over the years, but i have them in books somewhere. maybe i'll dig them up, sometime.)

I am Navajo and know this Prayer. It is authentic.

I had hoped the prayer would have been in Navajo, its 3 years sadly since I have heard Navajo spoken or sung... Some how to listen to the Navajo guides in Monument Valley singing and the haunting sounds of the drone flute will be imprinted in my heart.. Twice now I have tried to record it and each time the batteries drained on all our devices... I guess I was meant to listen and store the experience in my heart and mind. It was truly an amazing experience and I yearn to go back there some time... I know part of me remains there..

i bet that it would be very beautiful in the navajo language. i love to hear american indian languages spoken.

libana is a group i'm familiar with, but maybe there are other navajo versions on youtube, i don't know. i haven't looked. might be nice to look sometime.

your experience sounds beautiful. it reminds me of some r. carlos nakai recordings, i think, were made in a canyon? they have beautiful echoes. he is navajo dine. there is some chanting in much of his music too. i don't know if it's the language or syllabic style chanting. but beautiful anyway. he's one of my favorite musicians.

Navajo Words (Language) Dine'bizaad
Beauty = Nizhonii, Hozhonii
Me = Shi
Above = Bikaa'
Below = Biyaa'
Within = Biyi

Reading these words will be hard to do, because Navajo is a spoken language, based in our oral tradition. It is not a written language.

Carlos Nakai is Navajo/Ute. He once played his flute all over the Navajo Nation. I sold his music at the Trading Post where I worked. His recordings are non traditional. The echos are electronically produced. Playing your flute in real locations with real echos is much different.

Monument Valley is famous because of all the old westerns filmed there. The drained batteries may be due to Paranormal activity. How ever the Reservation has much more powerful paranormal areas located within it.

This is a Link to I playing my Native Flute in side Cave Of The Domes, in Horseshoe Mesa, in the Grand Canyon AZ. It was a 5 mi hike to reach the mesa down in the Canyon. Rim 7250ft, Mesa 4200ft. On the Grandview Trail. Here you will hear a real echo of my flute being played in a natural limestone cavern.

Here is a photo of the cave. I got one of my flute in the cave, as seen below.

Notice the orbs. The cave is very dusty.
