How do you cut a deck and/or choose your cards?

I'm used to cutting a deck in three stacks, taking the card from the top of the middle stack as my answer. But often decks always split at the exact same place, due to a slightly damaged corner or whatever.
It looks like I got to find myself another way that works better, no matter how much that annoys me

So I'm wondering, how do you do this?

I usually pull a chunk from bottom of deck, and plop smaller chunks (alternating with twists of top hand to turn direction of cards) onto top of deck.

Then I spread into a line (casino style!) and select a card from there. (Sounds complicated but everything up to here takes about 15 seconds)

Sometimes I am lazy and for one card spreads in particular, just open the deck wherever.

Using online decks is even easier, I just click ‘draw’ haha :laughing:
(Anytime you see me using Shadowscapes or Lenormand, i’m actually playing tarot from my phone lol)

I just go with whatever feels right.

I tend to riffle, then overhand shuffle until it feels 'right'. Sometimes I pull directly from the top, other times I hold the deck in my left hand and flip some into my right hand (in effect, splitting the deck) then take the top card from the pile in my left hand.

Oracles I tend to quickly shuffle, fan out and pull the card(s) I feel drawn to.

when it comes to separate questions, like the spread I posted the other day for your week ahead. I will shuffle the deck for each question separately. 'What do i need to focus on?" shuffle for that Q and pull a card. Then next question "What do I need to do?" shuffle then pull card for that question.

Im a feeler, with all senses. And i sometimes listen, my guides will say (STOP) or (NOW) and i start to pull the cards.

I do the same as you. I never cut and just shuffle. I also shuffle for separate questions if it's a new spread or a long spread so I can get a better feel for the questions.

For myself, I go along with my intuition, and always trust that what card comes forth is what is needed to be seen and heard. Generally, I will shuffle and riffle the cards for 1 round, at times I just shuffle and draw them from the top. It all depends, but I notice that the intention, having faith and trust is key and important for myself as I work with Spirit and my spiritual family
