[quote=Bluegreen]It was the experiencer who saw himself as a ball of light/energy.
I have read that originally we were balls of light before we descended into ever denser realms.

Here is one:
Quote:
This ball of light represented my essence or soul if you would prefer. Then the blue light went up and as it went up the aura surrounding my body opened up and it created this type of path that just went straight up. So as the the blue light I traveled up the path and eventually it came into this other aura, but in this aura was this giant ball of energy. This ball of energy contained the essence of every living thing that has ever and will ever exist.

This makes sense. Ultimately, all matter is energy: just with its vibrations slowed down. And in the next world, we will probably be operating at higher vibrations.

Good conversation, folks.

As for balls of light... in my own experience even without a full nde, I sometimes know myself as a body of light which is larger than the physical form and not human in appearance, and which varies in size, shape and frequency.... or as a small point of consciousness out-of-body.

As for how we go higher... yes, divine love is truly uplifting.

Another part of the process is to keep facing and gradually letting go of our lower self, our conditioned identity. It's like ballast... the more we drop of our personal density the higher we naturally rise.

OK, I'll be one of those light beings that must change into 'looking like
a human' so you can relate to me -and hopefully remind you there
is something more...ok?
But, you can always do what you wish and progress at your own pace.

(Now, I'm thinking your life here is so tough that you're
setting your sights on the simple "relief" of being away from "here"
...that'll change.)

You can be my beacon of light, beckoning me on to better things.

Yeah. . . after two years of: pension mess, scratched cornea, eye infection, wife getting cancer, wife's surgery, wife apparently getting better, wife dying: medical bills, depression, financial problems, legal issues: broken ankle, hospitalization, blood clot, weeks without being able to walk, more medical bills. . . I'll be happy just to be able to live without expenses or health problems for awhile.

Wow, Jim. What a lot of challenges!

At least you can know your wife is relieved and free of all that.

And you can take the time to love yourself more, no matter what's going on... here and now.

Ah, so I was right.
It seems you might be in the "Infirmary" recovering from
this life before you have the responsibility of a "cottage", honey.
I'll come visit, and we'll take baby steps...you can sleep alot, too.

Yeah. . . then again, in centuries past it would just be considered the norm. It wasn't until the 20th century that we started to regard a long healthy prosperous life as being the norm, and our right.

Maybe you should stop by and visit now, Miss H.

Actually, I think that all of us who are even somewhat in-the-know about the next world are likely to have tasks there as guides to confused newcomers.

Can you imagine what a shock suddenly being in the afterlife must be to, say, a healthy 30 year old materialist who dies suddenly and without warning?

Well, you are conveniently single now and maybe your eyes aren't so good,
I like that in a man...was that inappropriate and insensitive?
I'm like that.

And you live in a great city.

And yes, I can imagine people's shock when they get to the Other Side.
A First Christian Church pastor said to me once, "Boy, is Oral Roberts
going to be surprised when he sees alot of homosexuals in Heaven!"

Another book for you, Jim, "A World Beyond" by Ruth Montgomery.
(Really written by Arthur Ford, deceased medium friend of hers!!! Took over her fingers while she was typing, saying, "Hi Ruth. This is Art.")
