I love honesty,and simplicity, I think you may be right to a big degree,people want to hear something so badly,their "ego" works overtime and imagination runs wild,there are genuine folk around,in my day "70's" I belonged to a Spiritualist Church in Brisbane Australia,we had a closed circle each week to send light and love all over the world,we had "unconscious mediums" visit occasionally, these folk would go into a trance and people would come from the otherside and slip into the mediums earth body,vocal cords had to be manufactured by the medium and the entity from ectoplasm,I have heard a mans deep voice including accent come from the mouth of a little old lady medium,as it was happening the lady seemed to shrink a bit,it was very strange but I seen it with my own eyes,so I suppose channeling is similar.
But,we had to go through a process of light protection and say aloud certain affirmations,it was complex,so I agree with you,the ego is a very powerful thing,of all the mediums I knew maybe 9 out of 10 went mad,or ended up with mental health issues!

It's the receiver who can get confused?
As I said in my reply/post to Sarian,quite a few of the mediums went a bit funny,mentally, thinking they were the source,their ego was the source,it's not hard to believe,unless you get that protective cover,that pure white light every time you channel you leave yourself open to little mischievous entities called elementals!
I have seen elementals,trying to grab my silver cord,they failed because of prayer.

With channeling personally, I mostly use brainstorming a poetry techinique but instead of poetry I adapt it for messages and question asking.

Format would be for example Who are you? I am the divine. Why are you here? Why is it you are here? I basically just free form write.

Most times the messages are directly from my higher self and I end up finding more meaning within than meets the normal eye, especially when I get certain bits of information such as names. I don't always know what the names are in reference to until at a later date. Then it becomes clearer. With the names I find it is better for me to be in a meditative state. More information with quality meanings comes to me better while meditating and writing then daily repetitive writing.

Honestly though sometimes the message channeling is just weird. At least to me it is.

Wait you mean channeling life me when you talk to other things in your head? I used to accidentally hear a lot of different entities, both good and bad before I learned to block them out.

Shivatar, you are right, it is improbable that all entities are light, at least I can confirm from my own personal experience. However, my channeled message are definitely NOT similar. About 70% of my channelings (which you can see on YouTube) are negative / dark, ranging from gods, goddesses, angels, demons, priests and priestesses, shamans, magicians, witches, vampires, extraterrestrials, dark animal spirit guides, and historical people, all ranging from Zeus, Thoth, Chronos, Lilith, Quetzalcoatl, Lucifer, Thor, Genghis Khan, Praying Mantis, and crazy unbelievable things that you probably can't imagine, etc. And, what's interesting is that many of these beings in my channelings are accompanied with lost or forgotten ancient languages, which I don't speak! Many times I am automatic writing, other times speaking in tongues. And these negative beings are intense and full of profound emotions, probably not what most of you would suspect from your limited 3rd dimensional consciousness.

Not all entities are light. Not all darkness is evil. Sometimes darkness is just another form of energy. I personally find it boring and uninteresting when I watch other people channel, because they are always so calm, emotionless, light and fluffy, but that does not represent all spirits! That does not represent all reality! Duality is made of opposites. You can't have light without dark. Some of these beings are terrifying and may scare the hell out of most of you. But quite frankly, you have the free will to explore whatever shade of Light or Darkness you want to. What is your Will? What do you resonate with? We are all divine sacred beings, we are all on our own path, so you choose...

Maybe the message is always positive because happiness / harmony is the one thing we all desire, but sure it is highly improbable that all being are identical. If you look as mischievous beings. In some circles they are considered dark and evil, while in others they are revered as lighthearted and a whole lot of fun. Maybe we should not confuse light with a narrow minded idea of what few people believe is good. I remember that my what some would call spiritual awakening came with a distinct hate for angels and their god, something that had not been there the day before. Even to this day where I can appreciate them for the beings they are, I still seek greater joy in the Fae and natural world of Gaea Maybe all our lights are simply just different?
