I have read many books about his life, his Prayers/Teachings and his quotes.

Eckhart von Hochheim and widely referred to as Meister Eckhart, was a German theologian, philosopher, and mystic, born near Erfurt, in Thuringia.

Quote:
For if things are to go well with a man, one of two things must always happen to him.
Either he must find and learn to possess God in works, or he must abandon all works.
But since a man cannot in this life be without works, which are proper to humans and are of so many kinds,
therefore he must learn to possess his God in all things and to remain unimpeded,
whatever he may be doing, wherever he may be.
And therefore if a man who is beginning must do something with other people,
he ought first to make a powerful petition to God for His help, and put Him immovably in his heart,
and unite all his intentions, thoughts, will and power to God, so that nothing else than God can take shape in that man.

Meister Eckhart's

Quote:
God alone must work in thee without hindrance, that He may bring to perfection His likeness in thee. So thou mayest understand with Him, and love with Him. This is the essence of perfection

I have never questioned M. Ehkhart's Christianity! That seems kinda funny...
but only because I have read him for 3 decades.

So, I reviewed his life a bit just now.. remembering he was a teacher in Paris, but not realizing he was given
the prestige only given to Thomas Aquinas, that being, asked to come BACK! Ha!
I knew he was a Dom priest, I was not sure he was considered a Monk. (See below**)

I didn't remember his high standing within the Church...
being appointed vicar of many monasteries to get them in order.

Not many Christians other than those interested in the Mystics, know much about him because as I said earlier...
the RC Church was SO threatened by his words to the peasants...that they did not need a middle man, essentially...
they could experience God directly.

WELL! In the 13thc ...my heavens...that was like a political coup!!
Treason! Heresy!
See?
.......
**"Meister Eckhart, who has been called the “Father of German thought”, was a Dominican monk,
and one of the most profound thinkers of the Middle Ages."

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

They do him wrong who take God just in one particular way. They take the way rather than God.

Look people....where does it say that Eckhart Tolle is either a priest or a monk? As I said it is not mentioned on the internet. You can't just make things up.

I found this....

Quote:
According to a 2009 article in The New York Times, Tolle is "not identified with any religion, but uses teachings from Zen Buddhism, Sufism, Hinduism and the Bible"

I am not quoting neither referring to Eckhart Tolle, maybe if you read the Thread properly you wouldn't shout before you were hurt.
