Funny that you asked about something that eliminates that noise. Digital Dowsing is working on a new type of spirit box that will have some of these features:
•Eliminate the noise while scanning

•External record outputs straight and echo
•Volume effects
•Slide Tuning options
•Popular station bypass
•AM, FM, SW
•Scan multiple bands at the same time
•Built for the ground up for Paranormal research
A very complex box, but adding the Short Wave band frequencies, eliminating the scanning noise and station bypass is like, wow to me. If I could build a spirit box, those are 3 things I would want in it.
Looks like it is in the developmental stage, so it won't be out anytime soon and will probably be more expensive than the P-SB7. But something to look forward to in the future.
