Color The Devil's Mean Streak/kathy

here are two poems of mine..the Devil's Mean Streak I wrote years ago in High School, and the other poem titled Kathy is mysed friend who passed away of breast cancer...Enjoy

THE DEVIL'S MEAN STREAK--Paula C. Roberts

The Devil's got a mean streak
and he's knocking on your door,
but don't let the Devil in-cause
he's rotten to the core.

He'll trick you into believing
that the wrong you do is right,
and make you take the rap-while
he stays out of sight.

He'll pretend he's your friend
then stab you in the back-and
laugh his evil laugh, right after
the attack.

Yes, the Devil's got a mean
streak, but don't let that Devil
in, cause with the Devil on your
side, you know you'll never win!

KATHY--Paula C. Roberts

I can still hear your laughter
how it echoes in the air,
I can still see your face, and
how I wish you were still here.

But I know you are in a better
place, a place you now call home,
where Angels sing so sweetly, and
your spirits free to roam.

I know I have to let go, but sometimes
it's so hard to do, cause the day you
died my friend, a part of me died too.
than stab you in the back
