First of Many of my silly questions
I have many silly questions!
If a spirit comes to me and using telepathy, do i assume that they understand my responses thru telepathy on their end?
Im currently using speech to respond just in case they can't.

if spirit connect through Telepathy then yes they would understand you and what you are trying to say

If it happens with someone who is living spirit?if i can pick up their thought and feeling does it mean theu are telepathic too? I can do this with one person but am too shy to ask if they can do telepathy too? I dont know if im just picking up their thoughts! Maybe they aren't doing it on purpose! Any ideas about this?

Most likely yes they are using conscious telepathy.

It depends on what their thoughts are. For example, an aspect of a person's subconscious(lets say) would not have a conversation with you and speak about things only a conscious person would say.
I suggest do not be shy. Investigate and discover. Become adventurous.

You've given me something to think about.
Just because i may pick up thru telepathy a feeling or their thoughts; it may not have be for me at all?
Just their feeling or thoughts for whatever reason?
I know this seems very long, but I'm almost there! I promise!!! I will move on!!
