I realize I'm necroing a thread, but this caught my eye. The Sanskrit has sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja, literally, "all dharmas abandoning unto Me only take refuge". Sanskrit is highly inflected, so it can be terse and have completely free word order. Some translations are more liberal than others to appeal to the English-speaking brain.

Dharma has many meanings but the most common ones are way, path, duty, method, law, works. Here it means not really religions as we think of Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, mysticism, etc., but all ways of finding the truth other than just following and surrendering to Him. Y'know... stop looking, you found it in Him.

If hundreds of thousands of suns rose up at once into the sky,
they might resemble the effulgence of the Supreme Person in that universal form.

I have no scientific evidence for anything I say.
Better to PM me if you want me to see a post to me. I miss a lot.

He who does my work, who loves me, who sees me as the highest,
free from attachment to all things, and with love for all creation,
he in truth comes to me.

No argument from me about this. But my Q is, aside from personal 'happiness', this is relevant to what?

perhaps because each person that makes the choice to go back serves as a beacon to others?

As a beacon to go 'back' ... to the 'womb'? ... of personal 'happiness' ... huh?

Ch 10 v41

"But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of My divine power I pervade and support this entire universe". 10.42

That verse gives me goosebumps.
