I want to care

Lately I have been stressed out with studying/school and my mom and I are just not getting along. She is stressed out

with her job and I am worried for her health. The stress is taking its toll and most of my thoughts and attitudes are

negative and I know this is not me. I used to be very spiritual but over time I neglected my spiritual-self and stopped

caring. I used to meditate frequently but stopped for no reason. I helped a close friend with his spirituality and now I ask

for your help and advice. Thanks

I'm sorry to hear about the stress everyone is going through.
I've been in a similar situation, and I know what helps me is just separating myself from others who are stressed. It allows you to think your own thoughts instead of hearing complaints from those around you.

When I'm trying to help myself feel less stressed, I find exercising, listening to music, and eating healthy helps. Or just take a calm walk by yourself and try to calm your thoughts and just look at nature around you. I hope this helps you in some way - wish I could offer more advice but I'm still learning myself.

I know how hard it is to realize that you have gotten away from being as spiritual as you once were. It feels so wonderful... how could we let it happen? But it does.

I think for me, it helps to try to remember the routines I did when I was at my spiritual peak. I think gratitude is the first for me. Spend a few minutes before getting out of bed and express gratitude for the good things in your life.

I also would do yoga in the morning and pray for others to know at least just one moment of love and compassion and that I would be so toward everyone that day.

Also reading new spiritual information and books helps me get inspired again and grow in new avenues.

Also meditation, chakra balancing and healing others keeps me spiritually connected.

It seems that whatever we focus on is where we make progress. So if our focus is on our material lives.. that's what we get. If our focus is spiritual, that's what we get.

Stress is not the problem, it is "Distress"; which is stress not properly dealt with. She may need a change of jobs, maybe not, she does need some beneficial ways of dealing with the stress! She is trying to carry the world on her shoulders and it will break her in time unless she finds her own way to meditation.

When you stop for one day......the Light flows out, to where no one knows!

for your help and advice. Thanks

Simple.......return to daily meditation and do not let a day go by where you forget! Even if you have only ten minutes, use them wisely.

Yep namek... It's time to begin a regular meditation practice again.

Here's one that will help you reduce stress and open your caring heart: Three Steps into your true nature - http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3680
