Tipi Living
Thunder Bow do you have any experiences from your tipi living? I slept outside under the stars and the moon and the spirit trees the other night and it was so glorious and gorgeous and soul enriching, must do more of it. I love it when you open your eyes when you are dozing off to see beautiful twinkling stars, the yellow moon with clouds moving about it and the dark outlines of tree branches and leaves blowing gently in the wind. The cool feeling on your cheeks as you sleep and awakening in the morning to the soft light of the day .Oh surely this is how life is meant to feel not closed in 4 walls. Call to me Great Spirit in All Things ,I listen.

I only rented a TiPi in the Haulapi Mountains for a few days in June 2013. LOL But I have camped under the stars many times all over the rez and the west. Starting in my childhood. My experiences are many. From the out right Paranormal to thunder and lightning, owls, and mountain lions. More than I could ever post here. The photo below if of the tipi I rented. Look for the Elk next to it.

I had to look for it to the right of the tipi..It looks pretty solid to me...
I spent 4 nights in a lakota tipi last summer and it was amazing apart from the fact it was cold.. The fire pit was outside sadly..Also the Buffalo robes were fake.. We did get a lot of visiting birds and foxes...

Back in the 1995 I spent a free night in a tipi in the Lake Tahoe Mtns. of N. California. It had a fire pit inside, and the coyotes were all around keeping me awake all night LOL.

I'm lucky, the only coyote I saw was slinking across the track on my way into Monument Valley for the sun rise over the Three sisters...:lol:It onlyis the only times I will get up at 4am to do this...
My friends tipi has a fire pit inside too, but he is unwell now with respiratory problems, ?? smoke inhalation or the resin he was throwing on the flames..
He did have real buffalo robes..and it was toasty warm too.

You know where Christmass Valley is? The Tipi was over near the Luther Pass area. Hwy 89. Just north of Hope Valley.

Thank you very much! =)
(And I know it was 1995, but was it a rental place, or someone's personal tipi? I would love the chance to to try it before I have to leave.)

I have my own lodge(Tipi) and have slept more night than I can remember in it, both on the rez and away from it. this year if all go's well I'm going back home to visit and will make plans to ship it over here.
I love sleeping n living in a lodge and set up properly there great to live in through most weather, but you do need a fire pit inside really.
