Aura Colors - red gives turquoise

Hello,

I'm translating an article about aura (How to Read and See Aura Energy, on exemplore.com), and while I find the topic captivating, I could really use some help with certain expressions which I don't quite understand.

In the section Aura Pairs, it says: 'Red gives turquoise, pink gives green, …' etc. What does 'give' mean here?

I'd be very grateful for any tip or suggestion.

Kris

I presume they're talking about complimentary colours.
The three primary subtractive colours are
-magenta
-cyan (which is close to turquoise)
-yellow.

(From these you can mix all colours. Pale or dark will depend on the saturation of the colour. Ordinary colour printing uses just these basic colours in various mixes.)

if you add any of these colours together, what's left is it's complimentary colour. So if you add magenta to yellow, you get red. That leaves cyan as the complimentary.

You can experiment for yourself. Your eyes will show you. You need a large (A2) sheet of black paper and another of white. You need a red disc about 30 cms diameter (1 ft). Make it a nice saturated vermilion or scarlet red. Mount that on the black sheet about its centre. Put the black sheet and disc next to the whote sheet, then stare at the red disc from about 3ft/1m for about a minute. (Do this is natural daylight or cool white LED light.) Then look at the white sheet. After a couple of seconds a cyan/turquiose disc will appear in your vision.

Pink is a little more magenta and less yellow and paler. Adding, say, 1 part of yellow to two parts of magenta will leave 1 part of yellow + 2 parts of cyan which is...green.

The compliment of blue (magenta + cyan) is yellow, etc.

How this applies to auras I don't know, but it seems to be what your query is about.
