Interfaith? Never heard of it...

Had to look it up. Here is what I found.

Quote:
The terms interfaith or interfaith dialogue refer to cooperative and positive interaction between people of different religious traditions (i.e., "faiths") and spiritual or humanistic beliefs, at both the individual and institutional level with the aim of deriving a common ground in belief through a concentration on similarities between faiths, understanding of values, and commitment to the world.

More info available on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interfaith_dialog

What a beautiful practice.

Are you a follower of Interfaith?

I hope that interfaith becomes the norm in the future....

The way the Christians and their faith usually get roasted in a forum like this does not inspire confidence.

A brilliant philosophy...should be part of simply being human
Doesn't sound like it requires joining anything new necessarily....except perhaps a movement of the spirit :) and
just being tolerant and broad-minded.

Does interfaith mean joinging another spiritual tradition in the usual sense? LOL...I have enough to keep track of with all the traditions I either belong to or affiliate with at the mystical level...er, which is most all of them, actually. Am I already interfaith, or do I need to go to services (LOL)? I jest...but srsly would like more info.

You just wait until a daring soul who is steeped in traditional Christianity ventures to put his or he foot in here.

The frequent references to the Bible not being true, having been manipulated, responders liking to go back to the inquisition to find fault with the document which form the basis of the beliefs for such a person is only a pointer. At the moment the critics have no specific target, wait until one shows up.

I don't think so, I can see how our beliefs would stand similar, but I can't say that I am a follower when I just learned of it.

I hope that interfaith becomes the norm in the future....

Usually the christians who get burned at forums like this (this is a spiritual enlightenment forum, not a strictly religious forum) is because of what they say that brings them down, just wishing someone well *cough* DIN *cough* they won't really be hit. It'll be the trolls or the obnoxious members that no one likes that would probably say something if they use the "wrong" words.

Woe to those who use the "wrong" words or have the "wrong" ideas.

They can still be treated with dignity and respect for their beliefs. You have more faith in humanity than I when you think that the baddies are limited to trolls and obnoxious members.
