The various interpretations of Gods and Goddesses throughout the ages are simply facets of their true being. So they have thousands of names and representations and thus the Wiccan can invoke them under different guises, with the traits most appropriate to their specific ritual.
Some go a step further and believe that the God and Goddess together make up something called Spirit - which is like an ageless genderless idea of God and that the God and Goddess are representations of the masculine and feminine aspects of that one supreme being or force. Wicca places strong importance on duality - the balance and equality of male and female.
Hope that helps some.

Welcome
Jaded Melody when you get in here!
When you get some time to take a look - are those links any good? If you feel that one is hopelessly inaccurate, I'll delete it!
And thanks for the information!
So... in answer to this question:

Wiccans tend to worship either a God and Goddess... or Spirit, which has male and female aspects? - got that! Thanks!
Oh and by the way
Jaded Melody... from the experiences that I've had, I don't necessarily think that this is a bad thing.....

It might lead to a wide variety of beliefs... but at least they're not controlled by doctrine and/or dogma!
