How to beat birthday-related depression?

I turn 27 on Sunday. I'm not really looking forward to it. I feel this case of "birthday blues" every August-mid September. I hate this feeling of knowing i'm now into my late twenties and am starting to feel old when i'm used to being young. I know some people would still consider 27 young but years ago i had this epiphany that you're only as young or old as you feel. I've lost my youth to being in the wrong gender and as i'm still trying to transition birthdays are really that much harder.

Also, i actually had a good birthday last year, even though i still cried last year. There's also this feeling of thinking my birthday won't be anywhere as good as last year. *sighs*

This is why i can't wait until my next life so i can be young again.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. My birthday is the worst day of the year for me but for very different reasons. It's hard to feel you've lost out on those years for whatever reason. But life is change and you can learn to incorporate that loss into who you are now. Trust me I've done it. Grieve for what was and then focus on the hopefully many years ahead. You can't get time back but you can grow from loss.

Aw this is such a shame

I always felt this way about Christmas, the you are supposed to be here, do this and be happy thing never sat well with me, I remember I went on strike one Christmas, I staying in the house from Christmas eve till December 27th, was one of the best festive seasons I had in my twenties.

Before you know it life will be where you wish it will be and you will be having an amazing birthday celebration, you will say "remember when I didn't look forward to my birthday? Now I can't wait to celebrate" ;-)

I wish you well TDO

Forgot to say:

I like the month of September because I love fall and hate summer and for me it's an end-of-summer celebration month.

Also I love being a Virgo.

Additionally, i guess it's also that i can't believe how strange it feels that i feel such a strong connection with being young but now we're on a new generation, whereas a lot of my peers have gotten married, have kids, etc.
