alone with my mind
Really when it boils down to nuts and bolts I feel the best healing tactic is being alone with my mind. Letting all the disturbances arise. Become acquainted. Make friends. And let them go on there own.
I remember in the beginning it was the hardest thing. Lol. Its become eazier . And it seems I have become friends with my mind. Taking the witness stand and being a witness of them helps me. Things come up that used to bother me and now I laugh. Its funny how a little work can pay off. It reminds me of lifting weights. Doesn't matter where you start. It only matters to be consistent and you will wind up where you want to be.
This is a big reason I don't like to get into the ideologies of spirituality or religion. To build judgement is the thing that builds a mind full of chaos IMO. I like to be without a specific belief system or agenda. But that being said I found it very good to be authentic and follow my heart the best I can. In a care free way.
Anyways I'm just reflecting on spending time alone with my mind. I imagine this is a common tactic we do to grow spiritually. Does anyone else want to reflect about being alone with there mind? Feel free to share your experience if you want to.

Sounds great to me running,m i myself like to spend time just alone, but without the mind, to me the mind is just a tool, but being alone for me is like a tradesman dropping his tools to just relax.

I'm not sure I consider myself alone ever...when I want to process something, I talk to the universe (as I perceive the universe). As I wrote that, I realize by 'alone' you mean no other humans to 'interfere' with your thought processes right then. So many people are afraid to be 'alone' with themselves. They require constant chatter/noise in their minds to avoid their perceived emotional pain. I very much enjoy my 'alone' time.

Open mind, open heart..what more do you need to get on with life....when you make friends with all of yourself..you have no need to observe your minds thoughts as not serving you ....you know your thoughts are one with you and they serve you well..

For myself, I find that sometimes I tend to go in cycles of withdrawing into myself and then being out in the world. And sometimes I don't, alternating simply as the world presents itself.
The cycles can be years long, then not to appear for decades. Whether I am alone with myself or externally engaged, there is a fuller and fuller 'settling' where I surrender to the experience, thinking less and less about where I 'am' and instead simply being there.
After the fact, I see that I was building a bridge, easing to first touch one shore and then the other, my self being one and the world being the other, driving deep piles that won't shift. Occasionally, however, the old shores give way, and then I must reach out to another, as everything changes, eventually, even the world, even me.

I like being alone with my mind because I can be completely honest with myself. I can just watch the chaos, and it gets easier the more I meditate. But sometimes, it's not so easy and quieting the mind feels like a hassle.
