Why is ego located behind the eyes and between the ears?
I listened to a Alan Watts video and he spoke about how the ego is commonly located at behind the eyes and between the ears? Is this a result of being indoctatrated to think self is behind sight and other such sensations?

Part of the human mind is also behind the eyes and in between the ears. When most of our energy is in this area of the body, our thoughts and emotions (ego) takes over.
A body with a balanced energy is open to let the energy flow from our "Earth" and our "Universe"!

As already mentioned, Watts was referring to the mind...the brain.

I don't recall being indoctrinated in that way. All that I recall is that even at a very young age I experienced my ego behind the eyes and between the ears.

You guys are mistaken. Ego isnt mind. Mind is real and reeffriming. Ego is a illusion. Watts himself even said other nations not of the west had their points of consciousness located anywhere on their body. I was just curious to this is all.

Did you come across some groundbreaking evidence proving what the most sophisticated scientific minds have been unsuccessfully trying to discover for centuries? Or are you presenting your beliefs as truth? |

I had read in anthropology that ancient cultures often considered the self to be situated in the heart area. The theory was that these ancient peoples associated the self with something that had feelings, so it was 'I' in the heart centre, but modern societies are very intellectual, which is high in the head where Watts observed 'ego' to be commonly located.
