In my practice I'm not really concerned with the thoughts... to me they're just imaginary things that happen by... I find they have no place in meditation but sometimes they come like a mighty stream and have to find their natural end, but I'm glad when they've run their course. I generally just stop thinking, and be, and sometimes I just feel my breathing or I feel through the body relaxing as I go. I don't bother with visualision , but on occasion visions occur spontaneously... which is nice for a while.

To me, there's a way of putting the thoughts away, like I start laying them on the ground below me. I've heard of people putting them on shelves or filing them... same effect, put them away somewhere. Less thoughts/more space... so yea, it's kinda like stopping thinking, but it's more like stop looking at the thoughts, because they are still there when I get back to them later.

Ultimately you find you are the observer, not the thoughts. When you can see them as clouds in the sky, and be as attached to them as you are to clouds, then you can clear your mind of thoughts and go deeper into meditation.

Hi Gem
You don't know any articles or something on the filing of you thoughts or putting them on a shelf?
That sounds very interesting and i want to learn it as it could be very helpful
