Stop the music!

I cant watch any movie without being annoyed by the background music. It just tells you how to feel, a cheap form of production without being creative. Dont tell us how to feel, make us feel it with the story! Every chase scene, fight, love story, epic adventure forces loud music that just breaks imersion. I dont wanna feel like im watching a stupid movie, i wanna be transported into that world! I cant help but feel everytime theres mood music, it would be so much more intense if there was no music at all. We would be able to make our own mood of the scene, what some would think is romantic, others could think it was cheesy or funny. I dont mind actual music if its a bar scene or montage, but background music is constant these days! Maybe this is why so many movies from the 70s are memorable, and modern movies are so forgettable, they go by like a dream.

At least ease the music in at the halfway point when we're invested in the story. Nothing turns me off more than booming bkg music within the first couple scenes.

Are modern movies exaggerating the music? I have not seen a film in over 10 years. The movies of the last century were okay in that regard. So musical scores are classics in their own right and totally enhance the film.
